The Maid of Honor (or Matron of Honor) is usually a sister or best friend. For large weddings, some brides choose both....a married sister for the matron and an unmarried sister or best friend for the maid of honor. She should help make sure that all of the bridesmaids get their dresses, go to dress fittings, get to the wedding rehearsal and wedding on time. She also is there to help the bride whenever she can.
